![]() The real kicker is the two destroyers and the carrier. ![]() You want to either deal with them seperately or lure them back to the Mothership so she can tank damage. The enemy goes around in groups of frigates with strike craft. It is not necessary to destroy them but it helps. You will be informed of enemy resourcing operations. You might want some support frigates because this is a proper fight. Destroy it.ĥ "listen here you little shits" if you send anything further than 40ish km ahead you will trigger the enemy. Salvage the ones at the side then use those corvettes to do the ones behind you.īy this point their carrier will likely be making a run for it. One corvette will immobilise a frigate, do that for the ones behind the Mothership. Oh no! A half dozen ion array frigates have hyperspaced next to your Mothership. Send your frigates to deal with it but keep them away from its bow. What you need to worry about is their carrier. Doing the trade will spawn the Turanic raiders but they ain't shit. Then harvest the resources, do some trade and build cool ships. Put four quite a bit behind the Mothership, then 2 a fair bit to the left and 2 a fair bit to the right. You only need to salvage one tray to succeed but I like getting them all.Ĥ "what was all that about?" you'll want at least 8 salvagers. When the cryo trays are not about to explode immediately salvage at least one frigate. Send all of your combat ships to fight the frigates. ![]() It is possible to save them all but you need to be fast. Assign each one a different strike group by itselfģ "bruh moment"- as soon as you are able (during the in-engine cutscene/briefing) make each salvager rescue a cryo tray. Make sure you've got all your research and stuff done and build a half-dozen salvage Corvettes. Build some combat ships before salvaging the Khar Selim. You only need the one research ship for the campaign but if you get them all it spins which is fun.ġ "nice planet you got there."- do what you're toldĢ "what could possibly go wrong"- do what you're told. You get all resources left on the map at the end of each mission.ĭo your research when it comes up. Homeworld is simply incredible and everyone should play it.Banner images adapted from Walter-NEST's reimaginings of Homeworld 2 skyboxes, found here Only a few minor problems interfere, like the abstraction of ship classes to arbitrary geometric shapes in menus, but they're meagre quibbles given the quality of the package. Lasers cast light on vessels, a depth of field effect enhances the already well-developed sense of distance between craft and the updated UI makes cycling between factory units easier. They've recreated Homeworld's ageing backgrounds and ship textures in keeping with Relic's original vision. That's helped by Gearbox' outstanding update work. The steep learning curve is entirely worth the effort, though, for the fantasy of commanding such an extraordinary collection of sleek, glowing vehicles, and for the spectacle when they boost into battle. Campaign missions can become very difficult if you fail to preserve forces between missions and the technicalities of combat-like micromanaging units to attack the softer top armour of frigates-becomes arduous in Homeworld's biggest scraps.
